Mold Screening
Targeted indoor and outdoor air sampling to evaluate airborne mold conditions and compare indoor environments to normal outdoor levels.
What Is Mold Screening?
Mold screening utilizes air sampling to evaluate airborne mold conditions within a property. Results are compared to outdoor conditions and interpreted in the context of the areas evaluated, helping provide additional information regarding indoor environmental concerns.
What to Expect During Our Visit
We will review the areas of concern and collect indoor air samples from designated locations along with an outdoor control sample. Sampling locations are selected based on the project scope and the conditions observed during the visit.
What Happens After Sampling?
Samples are submitted to an accredited laboratory for analysis. Once testing is complete, findings are summarized in a report identifying mold types, spore concentrations, and any notable observations.
When Is Mold Screening Recommended?
Mold screening may be appropriate when indoor air quality concerns exist, visible mold is not present, or additional information is desired regarding airborne mold conditions within a property.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Mold screening focuses primarily on air sampling, while a mold assessment includes a broader evaluation of environmental conditions, moisture sources, and conditions conducive to mold growth.
-
Air sampling may indicate conditions consistent with hidden mold growth, but it cannot determine the exact location of mold within a building.
-
The number of samples depends on the size of the property, areas of concern, and project objectives. Most projects include one outdoor sample and one or more indoor samples.
-
Most mold screening projects can be completed during a single site visit.
-
Laboratory turnaround times vary, but results are typically available within a few business days.
-
No. Mold screening focuses on air sampling. If moisture evaluation or a more comprehensive investigation is needed, a mold assessment may be more appropriate.
